Overview
This position is considered remote, up to 1 day in the office at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director will be the primary manager of a portfolio of key corporate partnerships including Stop & Shop, The Paper Store, KBP Foods, Papa Gino’s/D’Angelos, and other recurring cause marketing programs such as A Chance for Kids and Families. The Assistant Director will assist the Director of Corporate Partnerships in achieving short and long-term goals including developing two to three new cause-marketing partnerships per year and maintaining a pipeline of 50-100 corporations, and successfully fostering long term, ongoing relationships. Responsible for assisting the entire Division with reaching financial goals.

This $2 billion campaign is the largest in the Institute’s history and one of the largest ever in the U.S. focused solely on cancer. Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate more than $1 million from assigned programs;
- Conduct a minimum of 150 donor visits per year;
- Oversee all activity regarding day-to-day management of assigned partnerships;
- Strategize for growth and collaborate in recruitment of 2-3 new retail partners per year;
- Assist Director and Assistant Vice President of Corporate Partnerships in creating programs to enhance both the corporate partner and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s & The Jimmy Fund’s brand and reputation in the community;
- Cultivate and steward relationships with key stakeholders at partnering companies, including Executive Officers, Marketing Directors, Franchisees, and District Managers to further Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s and the Jimmy Fund’s relationships and grow programs;
- Work with Jimmy Fund/DFCI’s Philanthropy Communications, Digital Marketing, and Fiscal & Regulatory Management departments to develop and coordinate all program-related marketing materials and activities;
- Work with corporate volunteers and DFCI Trustees to develop new business initiatives and relationships;
- Responsible for assisting the entire department with reaching financial goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Director of Corporate Partnerships.
Qualifications
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required with 5-7 years of corporate fundraising, sponsorship experience, or equivalent background required. Experience in consumer marketing, brand marketing, or consumer sales helpful.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Outstanding time and project management skills Ability to manage complex timelines with multiple partners; Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines;; Strong orientation to customer service and donor relations. Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as a team member. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Must exercise significant judgment and confidentiality in working with prospects, volunteers, and Institute staff.
This position will evaluate current programs and create and execute approved plans to expand and diversify the donors and participants for the events assigned in order to broaden our donor base and create even more inclusive events.
